Chase Crawford’s Marijuana Plea Deal

30 Apr

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has an opportunity to make his marijuana possession charge from last summer go away as part of a plea deal.

Last June, police in Texas caught Crawford rolling a blunt in his car with a small bag of marijuana visible on the dash.Crawford and a friend were fired up in a parked car outside a local watering hole. He was booked on misdemeanor count of marijuana possession, a charge that carries a maximum 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.

As typical of a first-timer, Crawford has entered a pretrial diversion program.

According to a spokeswoman for Collin County District Attorney’s Office, the 25-year old actor can have his record expunged if he stays out of trouble for a year. He is also required to complete 24 hours of community service and meet with a probation officer every month.

Should he adhere to these terms, his case will be dismissed.

Crawford agreed to the terms of the deal back in November, according to court records, but the news didn’t become public until yesterday because there was a scheduled hearing that got canceled.
