Wendy Williams signs deal that keeps show on through 2014

The Wendy Williams Show has been renewed for two more seasons on Fox-owned stations.  While the details including Wendy Williams’ salary for hosting and producing the show were not released, we are pretty sure this extension will be worth millions.

According to Broadcasting & Cable, the two-season order is in addition to the daytime talk show’s renewal through 2012 back in January. The Wendy Williams Show, which premiered in July, 2008, has done well on the Fox stations.

“Wendy is delivering a great show every day that stands out from the pack and continues to grow creatively,” said Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, co-presidents of the show’s production company, Debmar-Mercury. “This season’s episodes are fresh, funny and star-studded, and her must-see ‘Hot Topics’ segments are simply compelling. With viewers, audiences and affiliate stations embracing her show more than ever, we believe that the franchise is still poised for additional growth.”

The show, currently in it’s third season, had a great year with Williams landing the only interview Charlie Sheen gave before his Comedy Central Roast, and hosted Fantasia Barrino when she opened up about being allegedly fired from the Mahalia Jackson biopic.

This season’s shows have also seen hot topic guest stars such as  Ashton Kutcher and the Kardashians.

The show premiered on July 14, 2008 in select markets including Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York City. It was then picked up for a full season that began its run on July 13, 2009.  Williams previously hosted specials on VH1 and has a nationally syndicated radio show on WBLS.
