The judge’s decision, which came over objections from prosecutors, brings an end to the rapper’s longstanding legal troubles in Louisiana. NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is now free to do whatever he wants, including schedule performances, release music and even move out of state. And that’s just what he plans to do.

Youngboy’s lawyer, James Manasseh, said his client is planning to leave his Baton Rouge hometown and possibly relocate to Los Angeles for a bigger market and better opportunities to pursue his burgeoning career.

“Being in Baton Rouge isn’t conducive to him being able to grow and move forward,” Manasseh said after the hearing Friday, calling Gaulden a “genuinely good hearted, generous, sweet young man” who works hard for his success.

The judge had given Gaulden a suspended 10-year prison term in August 2017 and put him on probation for three years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a firearm in the 2016 shooting. But Jackson decided Friday that the rapper had served enough time under court supervision — 28 months on probation — and released him.

The Tate brothers—along with a third suspect 16-year-old Kevin Anderson, allegedly approached the teen at around 2:45 p.m. Monday as he was walking home from school in Baton Rouge, LA.

WBRZ reports Davaughn was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, while Jeffrey and Anderson were initially charged with principal to second-degree murder, principal to illegal use of a weapon, and simple battery. On Thursday, however, a judge decided Jeffrey would be charged with murder and stand trial as an adult.

Although YoungBoy has said he only has one brotherWBRZ pointed to court records that indicate the rapper shares the same father with the Tate brothers. A spokesperson for the East Baton Rouge Police Department could not confirm that Jeffrey and Davaughn were, in fact, related to the rapper, but were aware that local media outlets were making the connection. According to WBRZ, Jeffrey Tate is being represented by James Manasseh. YoungBoy was previously represented by the same lawyer when he was allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting.

Chicago’s Civil Lawsuit Against Jussie Smollett Could Be Dismissed

7 Sep

Jussie Smollett‘s lawyers have filed a motion to dismiss a civil lawsuit against him seeking $130K.

Its no secret that actor Jussie Smollett best known for his leading role on the television series Empire, has been accused of making up an elaborate story of being the victim of an attack outside his apartment in Chicago by two men who allegedly had on MAGA caps. Two hunky Nigerian aspiring actors later admitted that they were the MAGA guys but claimed they were put up to the whole thing by Smollett himself.

Criminal charges stemming from the incident were dropped back in March after Cook County’s top prosecutor, Kim Foxx declined to prosecute the actor after Jussie forfeited his $10,000 bond and agreed to perform community service. However, the City of Chicago continued its public campaign to derail the actor, with everyone from the mayor to police chief holding press conferences shaming the actor for allegedly filing a false police report. (Even if true, he wouldn’t have been the first person of privilege to file a false police report, and he certainly won’t be the last.)

Then Mayor Rahm Emanuel called it a “whitewash of justice” and suggested Smollett received special treatment: “You cannot have, because of a person’s position, one set of rules apply to them and another set of rules apply to everybody else.”

Donald Trump Tweets About Jussie Smollett

Even US President Donald Trump threw in his 3 cents, tweeting: “FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!” ABC7 Chicago reported that the “FBI is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of criminal charges.” According to TMZ, the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police filed a complaint with the Department of Justice.

The actor was later fired from Empire. To make matters worse, the city of Chicago sued the Jussie Smollett seeking reimbursement for the $130K they spent vigorously investigating the alleged hoax attack.  The Chicago Police Department claims to have logged 1,836 hours in overtime trying to resolve the case.

Lawyers for the actor are now asserting that while Smollett is not admitting he staged the incident,  the decision to spend so much time and resources investigating is squarely on law enforcement.

“My client from the beginning has maintained his innocence and disputed the city’s allegations,” said William J. Quinlan, of The Quinlan Law Firm, who filed the motion. He noted that “it’s going to be very difficult for the city to prevail in making a case my client should pay for overtime for a case ultimately dismissed by the state’s attorney.

“It’s ridiculous and a stretch to require him to do so.” “This lawsuit was only filed by the former mayor … out of frustration for the state’s attorney dismissing the charges,” said Quinlan.

U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall, who is hearing the case, said she will rule in October on whether the city could move forward with its lawsuit to redeem the costs.

Teen Mom 2′s Jenelle Evans Arrested Again On Cyber Stalking Charges

6 Mar

Reality show, “Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans found herself back in the Brunswick County courthouse yesterday on charges of misdemeanor stalking. According to E! News,  the 20-year-old mom’s recent arrest is due to accusations made by her former boss James Duffy, which resulted in an arrest warrant.

Jenelle’s agent, Leo Daniels claims that Jenelle turned herself into authorities in order to clear her name after returning home from the Teen Mom reunion in New York City.

He tells E!, “Duffy filed cyberstalking charges against the MTV celebrity. She has not posted anything about him in a long time. Duffy came up with these accusations…Jenelle was aware of the warrant because Duffy posted all about it on Facebook and Twitter on Friday. Jenelle was in New York over the weekend. When she returned home, she went up to see what was going on. She was read the charges and they let her go.”

Jenelle and her old boss have participated in a hateful merry-go-round of nasty Facebook and Twitter harassment after Duffy, allegedly, posted pictures online of Jenelle’s wild, party girl ways. As if anyone was shocked by that. Yesterday’s arrest marked the third time this year the young mom has been put behind bars…and it’s barely March! This time around, Jenelle was released a few hours after she was booked, having to post $1000 bond.

Jenelle is due back in court on March 23.

Uh-oh…Chris Brown to be interviewed by Police for Theft

3 Mar

Chris Brown may be in big trouble with the State of Florida. He may be “formally interviewed” by Florida authorities following accusations that he stole a fan’s cellphone.

The 23-year-old singer is currently on probation for assaulting his former girlfriend and pop star Rihanna three years ago.

Christal Spann, a fan of Chris’, alleges that the Grammy Award-winning singer became aggravated after she took a picture of him in Miami, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

She claims that the singer grabbed her iPhone, yelled, “B***h, you ain’t going to put that on the Internet”, then drove off in his Bentley.

After Christal filed a police report, the Miami-Dade Police Department launched an investigation into the matter and authorities are now eager to question Chris.

“The Florida State’s Attorney’s Office has asked Chris’ attorney, Mark Geragos, for the opportunity to formally interview Chris,” a source told RadarOnline. “At this point it appears that won’t happen, which isn’t uncommon. The prosecutor handling the case is working with the cops in interviewing the alleged victim and the witnesses. Chris has an attorney for a reason, and Mark is in constant communications with the District Attorney in Miami, it’s not as if Brown has gone on radio silence.”

If Chris is arrested, his probation for his felony battery charge against Rihanna is likely to be instantly revoked. If that should occur, Chris could spend time in jail for violation of probation, despite whether or not he is actually found guilty of theft.

The singer understands the gravity of the allegations.

“Chris wouldn’t need to be convicted in the Miami case to cause problems with his probation, just charged,” the source continued. “The conditions of his felony probation are very, very strict. Chris must obey all laws and not be arrested for any other crimes. This could be a huge nightmare for his probation if he is arrested and charged.”

“Make no mistake, Chris is taking this very seriously. He knows that one arrest could unleash a wave of new legal problems for him because he is still on felony probation.”

Chris is deeply concerned, but remains optimistic about the outcome.

“Chris is letting his lawyer, Mark Geragos, deal with the Florida State’s Attorney’s Office. He will do whatever his attorney asks him to do,” the source explained. “He is no longer in Miami, but if he needs to return for any reason, he certainly will. Chris has nothing to hide.”

“Chris is telling friends that he has done nothing wrong. He is hopeful that the evidence and the true facts of the case will result in no charges being made against him.”

Ex-Tarzan Actor Arrested, Tigers Taken

1 Mar

The actor who played Tarzan in several films has been arrested in Florida after state wildlife officers seized two tigers and a leopard from his home.

Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers said actor Steve Sipek did not have the necessary permits to keep the exotic animals, according to a Florida  television station WPBF.

Sipek said he feels he’s being targeted by wildlife officials.

He said he’s being treated “like I’m a criminal,” even though he said he’s paid his insurance so as not to break the law.

“I have an animal that needs help right now,” Sipek told WPBF. “She needs medication twice a day and they took her away from me now. Who’s going to take care of her now? Who? Who’s going to do it?”

Authorities said there had been repeated failure to correct violations, including multiple bites and escapes, fencing and caging deficiencies, and feeding animals an improper diet.  The animals were taken to a sanctuary in central Florida.

Sipek starred as the title character in several Tarzan movies through 1972. He made headlines in 2004 after one of his tigers escaped from his property and was shot to death.

This is what he used to look like….
